EMBER x RODEOS FIRE SCHOOL

Smoke. Fire. Flavour.

Ember x Rodeos Fire School is designed for anyone ready to take their outdoor cooking beyond the basics.

Aimed at beginners and those with some BBQ experience, this hands-on class brings together two sides of outdoor cooking: the patience and technique of low & slow smoking, and the excitement of cooking directly over live fire.

The day will be led by the Rodeos team alongside award-winning Chef James Peck of Ember, combining approachable backyard BBQ techniques with the skills, flavours and presentation of a professional chef.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

🔥 Low & Slow Smoking
Build confidence with the fundamentals of smoking — fire management, temperature control, fuel and wood selection, seasoning, smoke profiles and knowing when your meat is ready.

🔥 Live Fire Cooking
Move from the smoker to the flames and experience a completely different style of outdoor cooking with Chef James Peck. Learn how to control intense heat, cook directly over fire and use different heat zones to build flavour and texture.

🔥 Taking Your Food to the Next Level
This isn’t about complicated fine dining. It’s about learning techniques that can transform the way you cook at home — better fire control, better flavour, better presentation and the confidence to experiment.

WHO IS IT FOR?

This class is ideal if you’ve:

* Just bought a smoker or BBQ and want to understand how to use it properly.
* Already mastered a few cooks and want to take the next step.
* Always wanted to try live fire cooking but don’t know where to start.
* Want to learn from both experienced BBQ cooks and an award-winning professional chef.
* Simply love cooking outdoors and want a full day surrounded by smoke, fire and great food.

THE EXPERIENCE

This isn’t a class where you spend the day sitting down watching someone else cook.

Expect a hands-on Fire School, working around smokers and open flames, learning the techniques, asking questions and — most importantly — eating some seriously good food along the way.

You’ll leave with the confidence and knowledge to start experimenting with low & slow BBQ and live fire cooking at home.

EMBER x RODEOS

Two styles of outdoor cooking. One day. Plenty of fire.
